The Extra Lesson ® was established over 25 years ago and is based on Audrey McAllen’s observations and work as a teacher of Steiner education in the UK.  The Extra Lesson involves an understanding of sensory processing and the natural stages of childhood development.

The Asia Pacific Extra Lesson Association (APELA) represents Extra Lesson Practitioners from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Practitioners who are members of APELA work both in schools and private practice.

Compulsory annual professional development is a requirement of membership. Go to the News page for details of upcoming conferences, training and professional development.
